SEADAE Professional Development Webinar with Dr. Victoria Stevens

SEADAE Members are pleased to welcome back Dr. Victoria Stevens as our featured presenter for the month of March in the SEADAE Professional Development Series for Directors of Arts Education. Dr. Stevens will explore creativity and how it relates to Arts Education in the light of what we know about child development.
 

Creativity, Arts Education and the Creativity Index

SEADAE Members are pleased to welcome back Dr. Victoria Stevens as our featured presenter for the month of March in the SEADAE Professional Development Series for Directors of Arts Education. Dr. Stevens will explore creativity and how it relates to Arts Education in the light of what we know about child development.

Victoria Stevens, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist, psychoanalyst, seminar leader, arts educator, professor, speaker and researcher. She holds a BA with honors in philosophy, cello and theatre from the University of Kansas, an MA and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (CGI in Los Angeles) and specialized certifications in Hypnosis and the Treatment of Victims and Perpetrators of Violent Crimes. Her psychoanalytic certification is from the Psychoanalytic Center of California, mentored by James Grotstein, and she studied interpersonal affective neurobiology with Allan Schore for six years.

As an arts practitioner and expert on cognitive development, as well as a researcher, Dr. Stevens brings a unique perspective to the field of Arts Education.  During the webinar, participants will explore


- The nature of creativity:  What is creativity?  Can it be taught?
- How does it connect to Arts Education?
- Can creativity be assessed?
- What are the implications for Arts Educators of the Creativity Index movement?
